Privacy policy

Your Personal Information

My commitment to you: I never sell or pass on personal information to a third party for advertisement or gain.

  • I keep a confidential file on each of my patients in a locked filing cabinet. Contents of this file will include the original questionnaire that I ask people to fill in prior to their first appointment. I will also keep notes gathered as part of my initial assessment and I will record dates of subsequent sessions with a brief description of issues raised, recommendations offered etc.
  • I have a legal obligation to confidentially and securely keep this information for 7 years for insurance purposes after which it will be destroyed either by shredding or burning. (Unless you are still a current client.) There are certain limits to confidentiality – which relate to whether you or someone close to you is at risk from harm – or whether you are involved in money laundering or terrorism. Please ask me about this if you need to know more.
  • My laptop which also has some personal information stored – (for example reports I write for patients) – is password protected and only used by myself.
  • Emails: I have an email account with a secure service which I will only use for work purposes
      • Your email address will be held in the contact list of this new email service. Please notify me if you would like to be removed from this list.
      • Newsletter mailing list: I send out a newsletter approximately 4 times a year with health tips and news. You are invited to join this list and remain on it for as long as you would like. There is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of every newsletter.
        • Company policy

          • I work under the umbrella of a limited company called Green-Aid Ltd which is registered with the Information Commissioners Office and we follow their guidelines.
          • Your personal contact information is added to the company computerised accounting program for invoicing & book-keeping and we will have to hold such information for 7 years for tax purposes. Our office manager is responsible for inputting information into the office system. She is bound by a confidentiality agreement as part of her role.
          • If you pay by bank card or credit card, we are legally obliged to keep your receipts in a secure way but none of your card information is held online by us or added to any computer data base by us.
